Paulina Walkowiak

CEO & Co-founder of cux.io

I am the CEO and co-founder of cux.io – UX & Analytics Automation Tool that helps eliminate conversion blockages in e-commerce.

I help companies to translate knowledge about users into specific business decisions. I support corporates in data-driven transformations and developing analytical strategies. Worked, among others, for TVN Media, PZU, Prisjakt, and EFL.

My background is in market research (ex Kantar) – for 5 years I’ve been supporting big players (such as banks, telecoms, and energy companies) in launching new products/services and customer experience research.

I’m a TEDx speaker and academic lecturer. Strong Women in IT, Winner of the ranking of 50 Most Creative People in Business.

Proudly call myself a mompreneur. Together with my husband and children, we’re a family of digital nomads with the experience of living in Berlin, a tiny cabin in the woods in eastern Poland, Madeira. Currently based in Lisbon.

Professor at Kozminski University and Lead Economist at The World Bank. Author of ‘Europe’s Growth Champion’ 

Previously a visiting scholar at Harvard University, the London Business School and the OECD Development Center Chief Economist at PKO BP, Economist at the European Department and Advisor to the Executive Director at the IMF in Washington, and Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Poland. Author of dozens of academic publications, including the book “Europe’s Growth Champion. Insights from the Economic Rise of Poland,” published by Oxford Univeristy Press in 2018 (Polish version: “The Golden Age. How Poland Became Europe’s Growth Leader and What the Future Awaits,” Prześwity, 2023), which received the Polish Academy of Sciences’ award for the best book in economics in 2019, won first place in Dziennik Gazeta Prawna’s ‘Economicus’ competition for the best book spreading economic knowledge in 2020, and was reviewed by the Financial Times and leading economists worldwide. February 24, 2023 marked the first Startup WRO Meetup after a long break! Among experts, founders, mentors and investors, we discussed various funding opportunities for young technology companies and this year’s prospects for raising funds for research and enterprise development.

We hosted foreign experts and local startups. Among the speakers was Efi Ben Artzy, who, among other things, is a mentor in various startup programs around the world and works with startups from various industries, which he supports in achieving innovation and better product development. He also advises business angels on how to evaluate startups for successful investments and supports companies in raising funds. Dr. Peter Ney, another special guest, has 40 years of experience in senior management positions in the industry (banking, insurance, telecommunications, utilities, government) and experience in advising Big Four companies. The Startup WRO Meetup stage featured Madnetic Games and NanoSci.

On April 26, together with partners Startup Poland Foundation, Google Cloud and OChk, we talked about overseas expansion. Startups both successful and unlucky after going abroad took the stage. Among the experts, we discussed the most common mistakes and best practices.

Representatives of the largest universities in Wroclaw took part in the panel discussion, and presentations were given by organizations whose goal is to connect the academic and business communities.

The co-founders of the successes of Apple and Netflix were guests at the last edition of this year’s Startup WRO Meetup, which took place on November 22, 2023 at Basecamp on Sienkiewicza Street. More than 200 innovators, founders, investors and students took part in the debates, which this time were held under the theme “Across the Atlantic.”

Financing technology projects was the topic of this year’s first meeting of the Startup WRO Meetup series, which took place on February 28 at Basecamp Student on Sienkiewicza Street. Representatives of both new projects and young businesses were able not only to find out from which sources to raise money for their projects, but also to make many interesting contacts, including with potential investors.
